Lady Bug On Green ( There Are 2 In This Ladybug Series) by Inese Edwards

Features

ARTIST NOTES: I adore lady birds. I don't see enough of them these days. They evoke lovely childhood memories. So I have painted two. This one is on green and the other is on blue. They make a lovely pair. This has been painted in oils on board. It has a honey coloured wood frame, as in the photo. Free delivery within Australia. The last photo shows a progression of the painting as it was created. I used an interesting technique starting with only black and white and adding colours later. This helped to create a beautiful glow to the colours.

ARTIST BIO

Inese Edwards is a Melbourne based artist specializing in oil painting inspired by Australian native  flora , particularly eucalyptus trees , blossoms and seed pods, which she often depicts in close up inviting the viewer into an immersive experience of nature.

Drawing on a background across multiple media including watercolour, pastels, acrylics, resin and alcoohol inks, Inese brings a strong sense of experimentation and fluidity to her oil paintings.

She is especially drawn to the interplay of light and shadow, transparency and depth and the organic rhythms found in nature.

Her paintings balance realism with abstraction allowing colour, gesture, and atmosphere to guide the work as much as observation.

Bold, yet sensitive use of colour and layered paint create a sense of luminosity and movement encouraging the viewer to pause and look closely.

Alongside larger works , Inese also creates smaller pieces and hand painted mini works, particularly in watercolour , extending her love of art into everyday accessible forms.

Inese has exhibited in approximately 26 exhibitions across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Her work can also be viewed on Instagram @artplusart_inese.edwards.

Inese welcomes conversations about art and process.
