ARTIST NOTES: An Oil Painting representing the vastness of the Australian Outback and the need for Helicopeters to locate and muster cattle. The painting also represents the warm and peaceful solitude of the Australian Outback. The connection to nature and the surroundings allows for those special moments of reflection and the ability to learn from the vast surroundings and its never ending peace.
Douglas LeMessurie is aged 65 and has been sketching since he was a teenager. He has recently become passionate about oil colors and the vibrant nature they bring to Australian Beaches and Outback. He has attended a number of courses at the National Art School in Sydney and his mentor is based in Rose Bay.
Recently he has sold at the Mosman 2088 exhibition in Sydney. He has had paintings exhibited at the Mosman Art Gallery in January 2014 and 2015 based in Sydney. Also a finalist at the Hunters Hill 2014 Art Exhibition, Hornsby Art Prize 2015 and Mosman Art Society Show 2015 all based in Sydney.
He has recently exhibited at the Camberwell Art Show, Bayside Art Show and the Hobsons Bay Art Show – All based in Melbourne
He can be seen painting on the verandah at 6 Challis Ave, Potts Point in Sydney.

ARTIST BIO

Douglas is aged 70 and has been sketching since he was a teenager. As an abstract contemporary artist he recently became passionate about oil colours and the vibrant nature they bring to Australian Beach's and the Outback. He contunues to paint in Acrlic and Ink based pencils. He has attended a number of courses at the National Art School in Sydney and his mentor is based in Rose Bay - Sydney. His Seaside and Australian Outback Oil paintings on Aluminium for outdoor hanging have become popular

Douglas has sold over 60 paintings since 2014 at a price range of $380 - $1,300 inc GST. He has sold at the Whitehorse Art Show  during 2017 another 3 paintings via the digital based 247 Gallery since 2017. in Victoria and Perth, Western Australia.

He is a member of the Mosman art Society in Sydney and the Contemporary Art Society in Melbourne. Recently he has sold at the Mosman 2088 Exhibition  and a finalist at the 2016,2017 Hunters Hill Art Prize/Exhibition both in Sydney - Australia.

Douglas has exhibited at the Mosman Art Gallery in 2014, 2015, 2016. He was a finalist at the Hunters Hill Art Prize in 2014,2016 - Finalist 2015 Hornsby Art Prize - Mosman Art Society Art Show 2015,16,17,18,19 -  North Sydney Art Exhibition in 2015 and 2016 - all based in Sydney

In addition he has exhibited at the 2017 Whitehorse Art Show -  2015 Camberwell Art Show - 2015 Bayside Art Show - 2015 Hobson Bay Art Show - Linden Postcard Exhibition 2016,17,18-  Moonee Valley Art Show 2016 - all based in Melbourne.

He has exhibited at the Victor Harbor Art Show in 2016 and the Port Adelaide Art Show in 2015 all based in South Australia.
